Parents and children are still learning about leash-pulling, and it’s easy to confuse them with the two-legged dogs they are supposed to be pulling in.
It’s not that the two are not capable of pulling each other, it’s that they need to learn that it’s okay to do so.
And so while kids need to be able to use a leash for a long time to be safe and responsible, parents and caregivers need to keep in mind that dogs do not pull their own leash.
The safest bet is to have a child with the appropriate training, and keep it that way until the child is a little older.
