Entertainment Weekly reports that Disney Channel has renewed the drama series “Guinea Pig: A Dog Lure,” which will be called “Dakine Lure.”
The show, from Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney Channel Studios, will be a series based on the new book by the same name by Sarah Cusick.
“Guineapigs are incredibly cute and docile, and they’re also highly intelligent and capable of learning from experience,” co-executive producer Alex Ochoa told EW.
“They’re not just pets, they’re smart animals that can learn from experience.”
The series will premiere in 2018.
“Dalek” has also been renewed for a second season, which will air on Disney XD starting in 2020.
The “Dek” pilot episode will air later this year.
Disney XD and Animal Kingdom are both part of the Disney Channel umbrella.
“We are excited to be a part of this growing, popular channel,” Ochoo told EW in an emailed statement.
“Our new series, Dalek: A Guinea Pig Adventure, is one of the most popular and well-received new programs on the channel.”
“Guess What, Daleks?
Are Your Paws A Dog?” is a new weekly drama from the Animal Kingdom that stars Sarah Cuzick.
It’s slated to premiere in 2020 and will be produced by the Animal Planet family of production companies.
“The Dalek is a creature that looks like a Dalek but is really a human-like creature,” Cuzik said in a statement.
She said it’s based on an actual real-life Dalek.
“It’s a Dalegar, and it’s the only creature that can help the other species of the jungle survive.”
