Dog owner is jailed for dog leash in Australia

A dog owner in Queensland has been jailed for three years for using a bungee dog as a leash for a bungy on a leash.

A Brisbane Magistrate found Michael Fussell, 38, guilty of causing unnecessary cruelty to animals on Tuesday, following a two-day trial at the Brisbane Magistrates Court.

Mr Fusland was charged with two counts of animal cruelty.

He was sentenced to three years in jail, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay $10,000 compensation to the dog owner, who did not want to be identified.
